EDIN GUTIERREZ
Edin Gutierrez - Born in Santa Clara , Cuba . Studied in the Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in Havana. He was a high school drawing professor and a Graphic Illustrator in the Tourism Institute in Havana. Edin is a specialist in restorations and worked for Restoration of Antiques and Paintings, Museum of Havana. He also participated in restoring and decorating St. Patrick Church, Public Library, Masonic Lodge and American Stock Exchange, all in New York City.
In some of his paintings, the relief of solid textures magnifies colors and the artist seeks to capture the intact city of Havana . At the same time, he eludes to the senses, tempting the viewer to touch the walls, the secular doors, or the vestibules of aristocratic houses that still keep their secrets. Another topics in Edin's work are that of Spirituality, Cigar Nostalgia, and a deep Concern for the Environment.
Edin has participated in numerous solo and collective exhibitions in Paris , New York , Nashville, Tennessee, and Florida.
