LISA RUSSO BIOGRAPHY
Lisa Russo is a contemporary artist who was trained in the traditional style. Lisa was born in New Jersey in 1972, and moved with her family when she was nine to Florida . She always had a strong calling for the arts ever since she was very young. During her public school education she won numerous awards for her artwork. After graduating from her local high school she went on to study drawing and painting at Central Florida Community College under Jack Thursby. She continued her education at the University of South Florida and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts, during the time exploring many mediums, techniques and styles, only to gravitate back to painting.
Lisa spent seven years teaching art at the local middle school, which she attended in her youth. Here she not only honed her own skills, but shared her knowledge and abilities with others. Lisa earned her Master degree in Education. She also took on private students, two of which have taken many of the top awards.
After winning awards in local art shows, Lisa began to study under a traditional oil painter named Jack Jackson. Following his passing she continued to paint masterpiece replications with the group that worked under Jack. Recently Lisa has given birth to her son, who gives much inspiration to her work. Her interest in bodybuilding assists in her studies of the nude. Often you can catch her painting with her faithful dog under her easel. She continues to feed her passion of paint daily and looks for new inspiration in everything that she does.
