Hupia - Aboriginal Deity Series by Rafael E. Cuza

Mixed media (acrylic, bone, wood), 11"x 17"in, Unframed - In the Taino religious believes, a hupia is the spirit of the dead, and is different from a goeiza, which is the spirit of the living. While living a goeiza was a spirit of light and in death it was then known as hupia, the dark spirit, and it went to live in Coaybay.
